LEOMINSTER — During its meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, the Leominster City Council will vote on a request from Mayor Dean Mazzarella to transfer $250,000 from the Stabilization Fund to the police department’s overtime account. The transfer needs a two-thirds vote to pass.

The transfer is on the agenda alongside proposed budget adjustments from Mayor Mazzarella. The adjustments would reduce budgeted local receipts to $84,726,625 and estimated state charges to $3,685,620, with the offset resulting in a reduction in property taxes. The final tax amount will not be determined until the amount of new growth is certified.

The council will also interview James J. Piermarini at 6:00 p.m. for the city comptroller post, a three-year term starting Oct. 14. The regular meeting follows at 7:00 p.m. in the John P. Mahan City Council Chambers.
