LANCASTER — The Lancaster Police Department and Massachusetts State Police are investigating a fatal single car accident that took place this morning.
According to a “public safety press release” from the Town of Lancaster, at 6:04 a.m., the Nashoba Valley Regional Dispatch District received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle accident on Old Common Road.
Public safety units from both the Bolton and Lancaster police departments responded to the scene, where they found the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, deceased.
“The cause of the accident is unknown, but speed was a major factor,” said Lancaster Police Chief Everett Moody.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
