
FITCHBURG — The name of the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Fitchburg Friday has been released
According to press release from the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, the victim was identified as Mario Bratkon, a 76-year-old Fitchburg resident.
Bratkon was killed at around 8:45 p.m. Friday while on a crosswalk at the intersection of Water and Nichols Street, a four-way intersection where the cities of Leominster and Fitchburg meet.
The crash remains under investigation by Fitchburg police, Leominster police, State Police detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Team.
The Worcester DA’s office said in their statement announcing the victim’s name that no further information about the crash is going to be released at the present time.
