Woman-owned business in Lunenburg wins rising star award from Center for Women & Enterprise
LUNENBURG –Joeci Gilchrest of You Name It Creatives, LLC, was presented with the Center for Women & Enterprise’s Andrea C. Silbert Rising Star Award, during the organization’s annual gala on May 11 at the Omni Parker House in Boston.
According to a statement from the Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE), the award, which is sponsored by the Globalization Partners’ Rising Star Program, recognizes women – like Gilchrest – who have been economically empowered by their relationship with the CWE. (According to the organization’s website, the CWE is a non-profit dedicated to helping entrepreneurs get their businesses off the ground).
“I am honored to receive this award,” Gilchrest said. “CWE has given me an opportunity to be part of a community of like-minded individuals who are all pulling in the same direction as me and to also finally find the answers to questions I have been asking for a long time.”
Gilchrest began her Lunenburg-based business the day former Governor Charlie Baker declared a state of emergency in Massachusetts because of the coronavirus pandemic. Her inspiration for taking action on an entrepreneurial endeavor as many were forced into inaction, was to spend more time with her family.
You Name It Creatives provides specially curated carpentry/craftsmanship for home improvement projects such as: repairing or building decks, turning a basement or attic into a guest room, interior repainting (of living rooms, etc.), and pressure washing home siding.
“We are thrilled to recognize Joeci Gilchrest with the CWE Andrea C. Silbert Rising Star Award,” said Racquel Knight, the Central Massachusetts’ Director of the CWE. “We are proud to support her as she continues to achieve her goals and make a difference in the world.”
