GARDNER – On Thursday, July 6, just before 8 p.m., officers with the Gardner Police Department were dispatched to 591 West Broadway following a report of a fatal accident involving a car and scooter e-bike.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene following the crash.
The victim’s name will not be released until all proper notifications are made.
“The electric scooter/e bike was not affiliated with the current shared scooter program operating in the city,” the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office said in a press release announcing the accident.
The crash is currently under investigation by Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and the Gardner Police Department.
