
ATTLEBORO – At approximately 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30, State Police troopers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident involving a Demoulas Supermarket tractor-trailer and a car.
According to Massachusetts State Police, the crash took place on Route 295 north right before the interchange with Interstate 95.
The Demoulas tractor-trailer was a 2007 Mack 600 truck pulling a trailer. The driver of the tractor-trailer was a 44-year-old Lowell man.
The driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police say the victim’s name is not being released at the present time because his/her next of kin notifications are ongoing.
So far, no charges have been filed against the tractor-trailer driver.
Two travel lanes on Route 295 north were shut down in the crash area to accommodate the investigation, with traffic only getting by through the breakdown lane, state police said. All lanes had reopened by 9:55 a.m.
The crash is currently under investigation by the State Police-Foxboro Barracks, Troop H Detective Unit, State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and the State Police Detective Unit for Bristol County.
