Attleboro Fire Department ambulance crashes while transporting patient

ATTLEBORO — On Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, at approximately 2:52 p.m., an Attleboro Fire Department ambulance transporting a patient to Sturdy Memorial Hospital was involved in a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of County and Thacher streets.

According to a statement from Attleboro Fire Chief Scott LaChance, the ambulance was traveling through the intersection with emergency lights and sirens activated when it collided with another vehicle.

“An additional ambulance was dispatched to the scene to continue the patient transport to Sturdy Memorial Hospital,” Chief LaChance said. “The patient did not sustain any additional injuries as a result of the crash.”

The driver of the other vehicle, whose identity was not released, declined medical attention, and the two firefighters in the ambulance were not injured.

The Attleboro Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
