ATTLEBORO — Police say a 74-year-old man who was hit by a vehicle on Pleasant Street on Saturday night has passed away.
At about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, emergency personnel responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle near 149 Pleasant Street (Route 123).
The victim, who suffered severe injuries, was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital and was pronounced deceased at approximately 9 p.m.
Officials have not released the name of the victim yet.
Authorities say the man was struck by a vehicle that was traveling east on Pleasant Street. The driver of the vehicle stopped after striking the man and is presently working with investigators.
No charges have been filed.
