ATTLEBORO – Early Sunday, both Attleboro and North Attleboro police units responded to multiple 911 calls reporting possible gunshots in the vicinity of Interstate 95 and Toner Boulevard.
Kyle Heagney, the chief of police for the City of Attleboro, told The Sun Chronicle that city police received several calls reporting the sound of gunfire shortly before 5:45 a.m.
Chief Heagney said the callers couldn’t pinpoint an exact location for the source of the sounds, only providing broad areas. He added that after conducting an extensive search of the area, Attleboro police did not discover any shell casings or victims related to the reports. State Police were notified in case the incident took in their jurisdictions.
