FITCHBURG — At 10:03 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2024, the Fitchburg Fire Department was dispatched to the Wanoosnoc Road area following a report of a vehicle explosion with possible exposures.
According to a statement from the Fitchburg Fire Department, when crews arrived on scene, they were met with a white SUV which was completely engulfed in flames, though no nearby structures had been affected.
The firefighting team swiftly extinguished the blaze and ensured all hazards were mitigated before the vehicle was safely removed from the scene.
There were no injuries reported in the incident.
