STOW — A motorcyclist died after striking a tree in Stow on Friday afternoon.
According to a joint statement by the town’s police and fire departments, at around 4:45 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, emergency crews were called to the area of 109 Red Acre Road following a report of a motorcycle accident.
When first responders arrived on scene, they were met with the aftermath of an accident in which a motorcycle had struck a tree off the side of Red Acre Road. No other vehicles were involved in the accident and the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Stow police and fire departments announced in their joint statement that they are withholding the identity of the motorcyclist until next of kin and friends have been notified.
The incident is under investigation by the Stow Police Department and the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council’s Accident Reconstruction Team.
