FITCHBURG — A suspect was arrested Monday night after allegedly stealing a vehicle, crashing it, and attempting to flee from police, according to the Fitchburg Police Department.
Officers received a report of a stolen vehicle around 8:37 p.m. and quickly located it on Davis Street. When officers signaled the driver to stop, the suspect sped away, initiating a brief chase.
The stolen vehicle was driven down a dead-end street where it crashed. The suspect attempted to escape on foot but was apprehended by officers a short time later.
Police say the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
