STOW — Dan Rowley, currently the Water and Sewer Superintendent for the Town of Shrewsbury, has been appointed as the new Director of the Department of Public Works in Stow.
According to Stow Town Administrator Denise Dembkoski, the Select Board officially ratified Dan Rowley’s appointment on December 10. He is scheduled to begin his new role as the Director of the Department of Public Works on January 6, 2025.

“Dan is a great selection, as his vision matches well with Stow’s long-term goals and objectives,” said Town Administrator Denise Dembkoski. “We’re excited that he will be joining our team.”
Rowley holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Leadership from Daniel Webster College in New Hampshire and has acquired multiple licenses and certifications in various public works domains, such as water distribution and treatment, roads, and cemetery management.
His management background spans several key roles, including serving as the Foreman of the Cemetery and Parks Department and Assistant Superintendent of the Highway Department in Shrewsbury from 2005 to 2015. He later assumed the role of Highway and Grounds Superintendent in Concord from 2015 to 2019, before returning to Shrewsbury to take on the position of Water and Sewer Superintendent.
“For more than 20 years, I’ve enjoyed building and maintaining the infrastructure and green spaces that connect people, preserve history, and support the future vision of communities I have served,” Rowley said. “I’m excited to bring all of this experience to the benefit of the Town of Stow.”
