Crews quickly knock down second-floor porch fire in South Fitchburg

FITCHBURG — On Monday, April 14, 2025, at approximately 12:16 p.m., Fitchburg firefighters were dispatched to a home in South Fitchburg for a reported porch fire with a possible propane tank exposure.

According to the Fitchburg Fire Department, Group 4 companies arrived on scene to find flames on the exterior of a second-floor porch.

Firefighters swiftly stretched an attack line hose, secured a water supply, and accessed the roof using Ladder 2.

Crews were able to quickly knock down the fire, preventing it from spreading further.

Overhaul operations followed, during which firefighters checked for any fire extension into the structure.

No injuries were reported.
