SPRINGFIELD — Trey Palmer, 27, of Chicopee, has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting that occurred on the night of Saturday, May 31, 2025, according to Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni.
At approximately 9:20 p.m., Springfield Police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Pearl and Chestnut Streets. Officers located an adult male gunshot victim on the 400 block of Bridge Street. Palmer was transported to Baystate Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries later that evening.
The Springfield Police Homicide Unit, under the direction of Captain Trent Duda, is investigating the incident in coordination with the Hampden District Attorney’s Murder Unit. Authorities stated that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
