Two arrested, one at large in November 2024 targeted Everett shooting

EVERETT — Two men have been arrested and a third remains at large in connection with a November 2024 shooting that targeted a residential building on Winthrop Street, according to Everett Police Chief Paul D. Strong.

On Nov. 13, 2024, Everett Police Department patrol officers and members of the Criminal Investigations Unit responded to reports of gunfire on Winthrop Street. Investigators discovered that approximately 11 rounds had been fired into the second floor of a home. Multiple people were inside at the time, but no injuries were reported.

Police believe the shooting was targeted and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

After a months-long investigation, arrest warrants were issued on May 21, 2025, for three individuals believed to be involved. Alexander Soto of Boston and Jorbert Rivas-Nova of Hyde Park were taken into custody and arraigned in Malden District Court. Soto is being held while Rivas-Nova was released on bail.

The third suspect, Alexander Franjul Alicea, 52, of Charlestown, is still at large. Authorities are asking anyone with information about Alicea’s whereabouts to contact the Everett Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit.

Chief Strong commended Detective Kelsey Difilippo for her work on the case, stating she “worked tirelessly to identify all the suspects” and secure court-authorized search warrants that led to charges.

“All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law,” the department noted.
