ROYALSTON — A woman with multiple outstanding warrants was arrested at an unauthorized campsite on River Road, according to a statement from Royalston Police Chief Curtis Deveneau.
At approximately 9:12 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, Sergeant Joshua LaMarche was patrolling the South Village area when he located a camper on River Road in violation of Army Corps of Engineers regulations. After verifying with corps staff that camping was not authorized in the area, officers made contact with the occupant.
The individual, identified as Lori Lanagan, 48, of South Street in Athol, MA, was found to have three active warrants, for the following charges:
- Larceny from building
- Possession of a Class B substance (crack cocaine)
- Possession of a Class E substance
- Possession with intent to distribute Class B and Class E substances
- Fugitive from justice
Lanagan was taken into custody and transported to Gardner District Court for processing. Phillipston Police Chief William Chapman assisted in the arrest, Chief Deveneau said.
“Visible patrols continue to deter and identify crimes,” Deveneau said in the department’s statement. “Great work to all for keeping our communities safe.”
