SHREWSBURY — On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at approximately 4:50 p.m., Shrewsbury Police Officer Timothy Charland reported that Filipe Dos Santos Goncalves, 22, of Everett, was operating his motorcycle without a motorcycle endorsement.

“Mr. Goncalves was not wearing a helmet and had a female passenger on the back also without a helmet,” Officer Charland said. Adding, “Mr. Goncalves’ motorcycle was unregistered and uninsured.”
Officer Charland reported that when Shrewsbury police officers attempted to pull Goncalves over, he fled at a high rate of speed, at one point reaching approximately 60 mph on a small residential street with a 30 mph speed limit. He also weaved in and out of traffic on Maple Avenue and passed vehicles on the wrong side of the road.
Goncalves allegedly failed to stop as several police officers pursued him for approximately 10 minutes with their cruisers’ emergency lights activated. During the pursuit, Goncalves drove across residential lawns before losing control of his motorcycle.
Officer Deven O’Brien informed Goncalves that he was under arrest and attempted to restrain him, but Goncalves allegedly resisted and fled on foot. Goncalves was apprehended by police after a brief foot chase.
Filipe Dos Santos Goncalves, 22, of Everett, was arrested and charged with the following violations/offenses:
- Resist Arrest
- Fail to Stop for Police
- Negligent Operation of Motor Vehicle
- Unlicensed Operation of Motor Vehicle
- Uninsured Motor Vehicle
- Unregistered Motor Vehicle
- Speeding
- Marked Lanes Violation
Goncalves failed to appear for his arraignment, which was scheduled for June 4, 2026, in Westborough District Court, and a default warrant was issued for his arrest.
