BELLINGHAM — On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at approximately 9:50 a.m., Bellingham police were dispatched to South Main Street near Crooks Corner following a 911 call reporting a physical altercation in the roadway.
According to a statement from Sergeant Mark Auld of the Bellingham Police Department, when officers arrived on scene they were unable to locate anyone.
Shortly thereafter, police were notified that one of the vehicles potentially involved in the incident was located at the Irving Gas Station on Pulaski Boulevard.
“The operator of the vehicle admitted to being involved in the altercation but declined to provide further details and refused medical attention,” Sgt. Auld said. “At the time, no witnesses had come forward, and the second individual involved remained unidentified.”
Sgt. Auld said that on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, Bellingham police were made aware of a video clip circulating online that appeared to show a portion of the altercation.
“This footage led officers to identify the second individual involved, as well as an independent witness,” Sgt. Auld said.
As a result of the follow up investigation, Sgt. Auld said that one of the individuals involved was summoned to appear in Milford District Court on the following charges:
- Disorderly Conduct
- Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle
“The name of the individual is being withheld pending formal arraignment,” Sgt. Auld said. Adding, “The court date has not yet been scheduled.”
