Medford police investigate early morning shooting that injured juvenile

MEDFORD — At approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2025, Medford police officers were dispatched to Light Guard Drive following a report of shots fired.

According to a statement from the Medford Police Department, when officers arrived on scene, they located a juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim received medical attention at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police conducted an extensive search of the area and recovered multiple shell casings from a parking lot located between Light Guard Drive and Rockwell Avenue.

The Medford Police Detective Division, in collaboration with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, is actively working to identify those involved in the incident.

“Residents may notice an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues,” the Medford Police Department said in its statement.
