FITCHBURG — On Sunday, July 27, 2025, at approximately 8:51 p.m., officers with the Fitchburg Police Department responded to a fatal motor vehicle accident at the intersection of South Street and Norval Avenue.
According to a statement from Fitchburg’s Police Chief Steven Giannini, the crash involved two vehicles and resulted in the death of a 39-year-old Fitchburg resident.
All of the individuals who occupied the vehicles at the time of the crash were transported to area hospitals for evaluation and treatment.
The Fitchburg Police Department, in coordination with the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC) Collision Reconstruction Team, is actively investigating the circumstances of the crash.
The name of the individual who passed away, the total quantity of individuals involved in the crash, and the outcome of a preliminary investigation were not included in Chief Giannini’s statement, which directed further media inquiries to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
