Haverhill police announce lane and sidewalk closures on Main Street during parking deck construction

HAVERHILL — The Haverhill Police Department is advising the public of upcoming lane and sidewalk closures on Main Street (Route 125) due to construction of the city’s new parking deck.

In a press release, police said the right lane of Main Street between Bailey Boulevard and Merrimack Street will be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and continuing through Friday, September 12, 2025. The lane will reopen each evening after 4 p.m.

Police officers will be on-site during work hours to assist with traffic control, the department said.

Sidewalks in this section of Main Street will also be closed for the duration of the project. Pedestrians are encouraged to use alternate routes.

“Motorists and pedestrians: Please plan ahead, expect delays, and seek alternate routes when possible,” the Haverhill Police Department said in its statement. Adding, that the department, “appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation while this important construction project is completed.”
