FRAMINGHAM — The Framingham Police Department announced that two officers have been placed on paid administrative leave while an internal investigation is underway into allegations of misconduct.
Framingham Police Chief Lester Baker said in a September 15 statement that the decision to place the officers on leave was made after the concerns were brought to the attention of his command staff.
“The public can be assured, the department acted swiftly when this information came to light, and this action ensures that police operations remain fully effective and above reproach while the internal investigation is ongoing,” Chief Baker said in the statement. Adding, “At this stage, the issues under review involve potential health and wellness concerns, and the department is approaching the matter with the seriousness it deserves.”
While no criminal charges have been filed at this time, the department acknowledged that the internal review could reveal conduct requiring further action, including a referral for criminal investigation if deemed necessary.

“The department is committed to ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to safeguard public trust and uphold accountability,” Chief Baker said.
Due to the ongoing nature of the case and the fact that it involves personnel matters, Chief Baker said the department is unable to provide further comment at this time.
“At this stage, due to the ongoing nature of this investigation, we will not be able to comment any further, as this is currently a personnel matter. If that changes, the department will provide further updates when appropriate,” Chief Baker said. “Our focus remains on protecting the community, ensuring accountability, and supporting the wellness of our personnel.”
