FITCHBURG — The Arc of Opportunity will host its 2025 Annual Auction on October 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Great Wolf Lodge.
According to a statement from The Arc of Opportunity in North Central Massachusetts, the event, described as the organization’s “biggest fundraiser of the year,” has been held for 36 years. The organization’s goal is to raise $65,000 this year.
According to the Arc, the auction helps cover costs not met by program funds and grants. “While program funds and grants support these services, they do not fully cover the costs,” the statement said.

The Arc of Opportunity, a nonprofit organization, was established in 1952 when a group of parents led by Coula Veros “came together to be a voice of change for their children with disabilities,” the statement said. Adding, “Today, their legacy continues as The Arc creates and supports lifetime opportunities for individuals with disabilities and their families, helping them reach their fullest potential and enhance quality of life.”

One of the contemporary programs the organization runs is the Family Supports and Recreation program. “The Family Support program offers workshops, training sessions, and support groups, helping individuals with disabilities find their voice and learn to advocate for themselves,” the Arc of Opportunity’s statement said. “The Recreation Support program provides safe, engaging experiences from day trips to long weekends where individuals can explore new activities, make friends, and simply have fun.”
