LEOMINSTER โ On Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, at about 4 p.m., Leominster Police Officer Kyle Klimowicz was dispatched to the Dollar Tree at 510 North Main Street following a report of an intoxicated individual refusing to leave who allegedly threatened to assault an employee.

โI arrived on scene and saw a male party, later identified as Jeremy Nunez, appearing to attempt to push his way through Officer [Renzo] Vasconcelos who was attempting to keep the male party from leaving so we could investigate the reported incident,โ Officer Klimowicz said.
According to police, Jeremy Nunez, 25, is a resident of Mattoon Street in Springfield, MA.
Officer Klimowicz said that Officer Vasconcelos was standing on the sidewalk between his cruiser and the entrance to HomeGoods. Officer Klimowicz said he then rushed over to Officer Vasconcelos and Nunez, who was trying to pull away from Officer Vasconcelosโ grasp and run off.
Officer Klimowicz said Nunez continued to resist being detained because his arms were tensed up and he kept trying to pull them away as officers attempted to place them behind his back.
โHe was subsequently escorted to the ground in an effort to gain prompt control of him and prevent him from becoming more assaultive,โ Officer Klimowicz said. โJeremy appeared to land on top of Officer Vasconcelos. From on top of him, I gained control of the male party’s left arm, placed it behind his back, and ordered commands for him to put his other hand behind his back.โ
Officer Klimowicz said Nunez refused to put his other hand behind his back, was still tensed up, and flailing his right arm towards Officer Vasconcelos.
โAfter being told he would be tased by Officer Vasconcelos, I was able to retrieve and secure Jeremy’s right wrist,โ Officer Klimowicz said. โI placed Jeremy in handcuffs and checked for appropriate tightness. He was assisted to his feet promptly, and ordered to stand against the wall alongside the sidewalk. From there, I double checked the handcuffs for tightness, and double locked them.โ
The officers searched Nunez and located multiple Evan Williams nips in his front right pocket.
โPlease note that while engaging with Jeremy, he advised us that he has a warrant out of Pennsylvania for armed robbery. I obtained Jeremy’s name and DOB, along with his SSN [Social Security Number],โ Officer Klimowicz said. โNote that he provided an inaccurate SSN.โ
Officer Klimowicz said that Sergeant Ny Mao was requested to come to the scene due to officerโs โuse of forceโ and Leominster Fire/EMS was also requested to respond to the scene because both Nunez and Officer Vasconcelos had a multitude of scrapes on their arms.
โJeremy began to continue to flail around and attempt to pull away from officers and yell while secured in handcuffs and standing against the wall,โ Officer Klimowicz said. โHe was subsequently placed in Officer Vasconcelosโ cruiser.โ
Officer Klimowicz then contacted dispatch and relayed the information Nunez had provided, including his name and date of birth.
Officer Klimowicz asked Nunez to run a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and Interstate Identification Index (III) check on Nunez for warrants out of Pennsylvania.
Officer Klimowicz then entered the Social Security number Nunez provided into the FBIโs Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) database using the mobile data terminal in his cruiser, but the number did not return a match.
โI was able to locate his MA ID, confirming his name, DOB, and RMV photo matched,โ Officer Klimowicz said.
Officer Klimowicz said he discovered that Nunez had an NCIC/III hit out of Pennsylvania. He added that dispatch confirmed Jeremy had an extraditable warrant from that state as well.
โThey contacted the ORI [Originating Agency Identifier] and advised that Pennsylvania was willing to extradite Jeremy,โ Officer Klimowicz said. โSgt. Mao arrived on scene and was briefed on the incident. Sgt. Mao took photos of the reported injuries on Officer Vasconcelos and Jeremy, as well as the bruising on my left forearm/elbow area. Jeremy was subsequently transported up to UMASS Memorial Leominster Hospital to be evaluated at his request for medical attention.โ
Officer Vasconcelos rode in the ambulance with Nunez.
โI advised dispatch that Jeremy Nunez was under arrest for the warrant, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct,โ Officer Klimowicz said.
Officer Klimowicz remained on scene and spoke with the reporting party Aliaah [last name redacted] and another Dollar Tree employee, Didmarie [last name redacted] who Officer Klimowicz said were both โinvolved in the incident.โ
Aliaah said that Nunez was in Dollar Tree around 4:00 p.m. that day when she received a complaint from an elderly female customer who said the he was making her feel uncomfortable in one of the aisles.
โThe elderly female reported to Aliaah that she told the male party to โgo awayโ and โleave her alone,โ as Jeremy was reportedly trying to get her to go talk to him in another aisle,โ Officer Klimowicz said. โAliaah reported that Jeremy left the aisle and proceeded to try to engage with another female customer in a different aisle, in the same manner as with the elderly female. Both Didmarie and Aliaah stated the elderly female reporting the unsettling interaction with Jeremy, appeared to be โshaking,โ and that she left her merchandise and left the store as an argument ensued between the employees and Jeremy, who was now refusing to leave.โ
Didmarie, who is the assistant manager of that particular Dollar Tree, told Officer Klimowicz that she told Nunez to leave the store after she was made aware of the complaint by the elderly female.
โShe noted that Jeremy began to get hostile and confrontational, saying โYou’re a b*tch, I’m not leaving.โ She noted that he blocked the entrance to the store and sat down in the doorway, preventing customers from entering the store,โ Officer Klimowicz said. โWhen Didmarie repeatedly told him to leave, Didmarie noted that Jeremy said, โIf you come out here, I’ll go in there.โโ
Officer Klimowicz added, โAliaah reported that she called 911 and that Jeremy began to get more hostile, stating โI’m gonna break your faceโ to Didmarie, along with โCome here b*tch, I wanna hit you. I’m a Latin King.โ It was reported that Jeremy stood up before making these threats, and stood within armโs reach of Didmarie.โ
Officer Klimowicz said both Didmarie and Aliaah reported that Nunez began leaving the property after Aliaah had been on the phone with 911 for some time.
โThey noted that Jeremy began โinching back towards the storeโ as they turned to go inside the building, just before officers arrived on scene,โ Officer Klimowicz said. โNote that Jeremy’s statements were reportedly said in Spanish, which both Aliaah and Didmarie speak fluently.โ
Officer Klimowicz said he collected Aliaahโs and Didmarieโs information and advised them to contact him if they obtained any footage of the incident.
โI was advised that Rosa [last name redacted] is the manager for this store, that she would be in tomorrow, and that video surveillance from inside the store and out front would be available then,โ Officer Klimowicz said.
Jeremy Nunez was charged with the following, Officer Klimowiczโs reasoning for the charges is provided in quotations:
- Fugitive from Justice โ โJeremy had a confirmed outstanding warrant out of Pennsylvania,โ Officer Klimowicz said.
- Assault & Battery on Police Officer โ โJeremy pushed Officer Vasconcelos with one arm in an attempt to avoid being detained, after being given commands to stay put,โ Officer Klimowicz said. โHe also appeared to flail his arm in Officer Vasconcelos’ face while on top of him on the ground.โ
- Resisting Arrest โ โJeremy was ordered to put his hands behind his back on numerous occasions and remained tensed up, attempted to pull away, and flailed his right arm in Officer Vasconcelos’ face,โ Officer Klimowicz said. โThis required contact controls to escort Jeremy to the ground, and pry Jeremy’s arm behind his back to secure him in handcuffs. Jeremy remained volatile and attempted to pull away from officers again even while secured in handcuffs, prompting him to be placed into the cruiser.โ
- Disorderly Conduct โ โJeremy engaged in tumultuous behavior including yelling threats and fighting words that would not otherwise be protected by free speech,โ Officer Klimowicz said. โHis verbal threats to Dollar Tree staff reportedly caused alarm with the customers in the store and included โYou’re a b*tch, I’m not leaving,โ โI’m gonna break your face,โ and โCome here b*tch. I wanna hit you. I’m a Latin King.โ Note that the Dollar Tree store neighbors Home Goods and Marshalls, and that the parking lot was full of customers trying to go about their business including going into Dollar Tree. They were impeded by Jeremy’s obstruction of sitting in the doorway for no legitimate purpose.โ
- Simple Assault โ โJeremy threatened Didmarie by yelling, โI’m gonna break your face,โ and โCome here b*tch! I wanna hit you. I’m a Latin King.โ She reported that Jeremy stood up from the ground where he was sitting in the doorway, before getting within arm’s distance of Didmarie and reportedly making those threats when he was aware that employees were on the phone with 911.โ
Nunez was arraigned in Leominster District Court on Sept. 18, 2025. Following his arraignment, Nunez was held in jail until his next court date, a pretrial hearing on Oct. 2, 2025.
During Nunezโs pretrial hearing on Oct. 2, he pleaded guilty to all of the charges and the judge sentenced him to 14 days in the Worcester House of Correction with credit for 14 days already served, resolving the case. Nunez was then released on $100 bail under the condition that he remain drug/alcohol free, stay away from the victim(s) and the Dollar Tree on North Main Street in Leominster, and report to probation within 24 hours.
