FALL RIVER — Police are investigating after two bodies were discovered Saturday morning in Fall River State Forest.
According to a statement posted to the Fall River Police Department’s Facebook page on Oct. 18, hunters contacted authorities after discovering two bodies near a vehicle deep in the woods off Copicut Road during the opening day of pheasant hunting season.
Responding officers secured the scene and notified the Major Crimes Division and Crime Scene Unit to assist. The Massachusetts State Police CPAC Unit and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are also involved in the investigation.
Police said preliminary findings indicate there were “no outside actors involved,” though the investigation remains active.
