Fire displaces residents at Franklin home, cause under investigation

FRANKLIN — A two-alarm fire broke out at a home on Maple Street in Franklin Saturday evening, prompting a multi-town response and leaving the residents displaced.

According to a statement from Franklin’s Fire Chief Charles Allen, at approximately 5:44 p.m. on Nov. 1, 2025, the Metacomet Emergency Communications Center received several 911 calls reporting a possible house fire at 338 Maple Street.

Franklin firefighters arrived on scene to find flames on both the first and second floors of the home. All occupants were able to escape safely.

Mutual aid was called in from Bellingham, Medway, Norfolk, Wrentham, and Plainville as crews battled the blaze. The fire escalated to a second alarm, bringing additional assistance from the Foxboro and Milford fire departments, Chief Allen said.

The fire remains under investigation by the Franklin Fire Department, Franklin Police Department, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The Millis and North Attleboro fire departments provided station coverage while Franklin crews worked the scene.
