ATTLEBORO — On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, around 1:50 p.m., Attleboro firefighters responded to 266 Washington Street after a vehicle crashed into a building housing a convenience store and pharmacy.
According to a statement from Attleboro Fire Chief Scott LaChance, the convenience store and pharmacy were open but unoccupied when the crash occurred.

“Upon arrival, crews found a sedan that had struck the building, breached the wall and caused significant structural damage,” Chief LaChance said in a statement. “Firefighters immediately assessed the scene for hazards and began rendering medical aid to the driver.”
The driver of the vehicle that struck the building, a female senior citizen, sustained minor injuries and was taken by Attleboro Fire Department rescue personnel to Sturdy Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

No bystanders or employees inside the store were injured.
The Attleboro building inspector found the structure had been significantly damaged, requiring the business to close temporarily for repairs and further evaluation, Chief LaChance said.

“It’s fortunate this incident didn’t result in something more serious,” said Fire Captain Nick Sheehan. “The store could have easily had customers in the area where the car struck. The outcome could have been much worse.”
Crews stayed on scene for about 50 minutes to secure the building and assist the building inspector before clearing the scene at approximately 2:40 p.m.
