ROCKLAND — At about 9:35 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, Rockland police responded to a 911 call reporting gunshots near 75 Deering Square.
According to a joint statement from Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz and Rockland Police Chief Nicholas P. Zeoli issued via the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, when Rockland police and emergency personnel arrived on scene, they located a 29-year-old man inside a parked car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to South Shore Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
“He is not being identified at this time,” the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office said in its statement. Adding, “Rockland police contacted the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) Detective Unit assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, and an investigation commenced. As part of the investigation, detectives conducted interviews and individuals reported seeing a thin male dressed in all black flee the scene. MSP enlisted the assistance of the MSP Airwing and a drone, and a ground and air search ensued.”
The investigation into the shooting is active and ongoing at this time.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office said that the incident does not appear to be a random act of violence, but a targeted attack on the victim.
