ROCKLAND — A 34-year-old Brockton man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred last month in Rockland.
According to a statement from Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz’s office, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for 34-year-old Kevin Denis, of Brockton, on Dec. 12, 2025. At approximately 3 p.m. that day, members of the Plymouth County State Police Detective Unit, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and Rockland police, executed the warrant at 165 Carl Avenue in Brockton.
Denis was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Rockland Police Department, where he was booked.
According to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office, the arrest stems from a shooting reported at approximately 9:35 p.m. on Nov. 11, 2025, when Rockland police received a 911 call reporting gunshots in the area of 75 Deering Square.
Rockland police and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and located a 29-year-old man inside a parked motor vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to South Shore Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries. He was later identified as Darnel Andre of Rockland.
Following the shooting, Rockland police contacted the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, and an investigation ensued. Investigators conducted interviews and received reports that a thin male wearing dark clothing was seen fleeing the scene.
As part of the investigation, Massachusetts State Police deployed Air Wing resources, including a drone, and conducted both ground and aerial searches in the area.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s office said state police later developed probable cause to charge Denis, leading to the issuance of the arrest warrant.
Denis is scheduled to be arraigned on a murder charge in Hingham District Court on Monday.
The case is being investigated by Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office, in coordination with the Rockland Police Department.
