EASTON — Easton’s Town Administrator Connor Read has submitted a letter of resignation to the select board, announcing he will step down from the position effective Jan. 31, 2026.
“It is with gratitude for fourteen years of service to Easton that I tender my resignation as Town Administrator effective January 31, 2026,” Read wrote in his Dec. 15 letter to the select board.
Read first joined Easton’s municipal government in January 2012 as a citizen business advocate in the Select Board’s Office and was later appointed Assistant Town Administrator in 2015. He served as Acting Town Clerk and Acting Town Administrator before being formally appointed Town Administrator in 2017, succeeding the previous administrator, David Colton, amid leadership changes in town management.

“It has been a privilege and an honor to serve this community and this Board,” Read wrote, adding he’s “excited to begin the next chapter” of his career, but remains deeply fond of his time in Easton.
In his resignation letter, Read wrote that his tenure included implementation of the Envision Easton Master Plan, execution of the Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan, and “garnering the national award for financial excellence in budget communications and international renown” for Easton’s regional 911 operations.
Read’s next role will be town administrator of Westwood, Massachusetts, where the select board has finalized a contract for him to begin duties Feb. 1, 2026. Interim Town Administrator Molly Fitzpatrick will hold Westwood’s top administrative role until he assumes office.
