Officer Walsh said he made contact with the vehicle’s operator, identified as a 41-year-old named Shawn who resides in South Barre.
Officer Walsh said Shawn had two passengers in the vehicle — Krista, 32, and Robert, 33 — who reside together on North Brookfield Road.
“Shawn was very frantic stating he was on his way to the Police Station to report an unwanted party making threats at XXX North Brookfield Road [i.e., Krista and Robert’s residence],” Officer Walsh said. “The unwanted party was identified as Ashley Murray.”
According to police, Ashley M. Murray, 38, is a resident of Worcester, MA.
Officer Walsh said Murray previously lived at Krista and Robert’s residence on North Brookfield Road but is now subject to a harassment prevention order requiring her to remain at least 100 yards away from the residence.
“Ashley is known to the Barre Police Department and currently had two active arrest warrants…out of East Brookfield District Court,” Officer Walsh said. “Shawn and Krista stated Ashley had just passed by us while on the stop in a gray Ford Bronco.”
Officer Walsh cleared the motor vehicle stop and attempted to locate that vehicle.
“While attempting to locate that vehicle dispatch advised that Krista had called again stating Ashley was currently at XXX North Brookfield Road in the upstairs bedroom,” Officer Walsh said. “Krista, Shawn, and Robert were now waiting at the Village Market located at 387 Main Street, South Barre, MA.”
At this time, Officer Walsh requested that a Hardwick police officer respond to the scene to assist, he then proceeded to Krista and Robert’s North Brookfield Road home. When he arrived on scene, Officer Walsh entered the residence.
“While on the first floor of the residence I could hear movement upstairs,” Officer Walsh said. “I continuously gave verbal commands for Ashley to make herself known and come downstairs. With no answer I went upstairs and checked both bedrooms with negative contact. Two windows in the bedroom were open and I believe Ashley had jumped out and took off on foot.”
Around this time, Hardwick Police Officer Patrick Alstrom arrived on scene and Officer Walsh updated him on the incident.
“Officer Alstrom and I then reentered the residence and conducted a more thorough protective sweep of the residence with negative contact,” Officer Walsh said. Adding, “Officer Zachary Warner was now on shift and arrived on scene. Officer Warner began patrolling the surrounding area while I activated the department issued drone.”
A short time later, Officer Walsh said dispatch advised that Murray was barricaded inside a back room at the Village Market.
Officer Warner responded to Village Market with additional Hardwick police units.

“Dispatch then updated stating Ashley had taken off on foot behind the Village Market,” Officer Walsh said. “A short time later, I observed Officer Warner escorting Ashley to his cruiser via my drone camera.”
Officer Walsh then landed the drone and responded to Village Market.
While at Village Market, Officer Walsh said he again spoke with Krista, who stated that when Murray first entered her residence, she yelled at Krista to get out of her room, saying, “Get the f*ck out before I beat your a**.”
“Officer Warner then read Ashley her Miranda rights to which Ashley stated she understood,” Officer Walsh said. “Ashley stated she did jump out of the second story window when I came upstairs at XXX North Brookfield Road. I also advised Ashley that she violated the harassment prevention order (HPO) against her by entering the residence. Ashley stated she was unaware of any order. I later confirmed that Ashley was never served her copy of the HPO.”
While still on scene, Officer Walsh spoke with the store manager of Village Market, Scott, who said Murray ran into the store, caused a disturbance, and then locked herself inside the back bathroom.
“Scott then came back out of the store stating he believes there to be drug paraphernalia in the bathroom where Ashley was,” Officer Walsh said. “Officer
Warner and I then went into the bathroom and observed two pipes wedged between the shower and the floor.”
Officer Walsh said the two pipes were packed with Chore Boy brand metal scrubber and contained white powder residue.
“From my training and experience, I know these pipes to be used to smoke crack cocaine,” Officer Walsh said. “I then placed the two pipes into an evidence bag and will be sending them to the lab for testing. When questioned about the pipes, Ashley denied that they were hers.”
Officer Warner then transported Murray to the Barre Police Department for booking.
“I then contacted the on-call bail clerk, Mr. Don Haapakoski, who stated Ashley would be held without bail,” Officer Walsh said. “Ashley was then finger printed and allowed to make numerous phone calls. Officer Warner then transported Ashley to the Western Mass Regional Women’s Correctional Center located in Chicopee to be held until court in the morning.”
Ashley M. Murray was arrested and charged with the following:
- Disturbing the Peace
- Disorderly Conduct
Murray was arraigned in East Brookfield District Court on Nov. 17, 2025. During her arraignment, a bail hearing was held and her bail was set at $250 cash.
Following her arraignment, Murray was released on bail under the condition that she stay away from Krista, Robert, and their residence on North Brookfield Road.
Murray’s next court date was a pretrial hearing scheduled for Dec. 16, 2025.
Disclaimer: If you are wondering why the arrest in this story took place in November, that’s because I had to file FOIA request(s) to obtain the court documents. FOIAs are time-consuming.
