Tewksbury man arrested on drug trafficking charges after months-long investigation

TEWKSBURY — A Tewksbury man was arrested in the afternoon yesterday on multiple drug trafficking charges following a months-long investigation conducted by the Tewksbury Police Department and several law enforcement partners.

According to a statement from Tewksbury Police Chief Ryan Columbus, Abbey Kasujja, 31, of Tewksbury, was arrested and charged with:

  • Obstruction of Justice
  • Trafficking in 200 Grams or More of Methamphetamine
  • Trafficking in 100 Grams or More of Cocaine
  • Trafficking in 36 Grams or More of Cocaine

Chief Columbus said the investigation was led by the Tewksbury Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division in collaboration with the Billerica Police Department, Burlington Police Department, the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Cross Borders Initiative Task Force.

As a result of the investigation, police obtained an arrest warrant charging Kasujja with trafficking in methamphetamine and three counts of distribution of a Class B substance. Investigators also obtained a search warrant for Kasujja’s residence at 485 Chandler Street in Tewksbury.

On Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers from multiple agencies coordinated to serve the search warrant and take Kasujja into custody.

During the execution of the search warrant at Kasujja’s residence, police recovered 445.6 grams of methamphetamine, 121.8 grams of cocaine, and 82.3 grams of crack cocaine, along with several phones, laptops, hard drives, and a large quantity of cash, Chief Columbus said.

Kasujja was arraigned today in Lowell District Court, where he was ordered held on $10,000 cash bail.

“I commend the strong work of Tewksbury Police and investigative officers in handling this investigation,” Chief Columbus said. “Thanks to their efforts, a large quantity of drugs are off of the streets.”
