According to police, Tyler N. Klein, 33, is a resident of Leominster, MA.

โ€œAs Mr. Klein passed my patrol vehicle, I noticed he had his cellphone in his right hand raised just above the steering wheel,โ€ Officer Carlson said. โ€œI immediately activated my emergency lights and attempted to perform a motor vehicle stop on the vehicle. I caught up to the vehicle at 506 Lancaster Street.โ€

Officer Carlson said he radioed the license plate into dispatch and it came back as active.

โ€œI then approached the vehicle and asked Mr. Klein for his license and registration, which he provided,โ€ Officer Carlson said. โ€œUpon returning to my cruiser, I advised dispatch of Mr. Kleinโ€™s license number. Dispatch advised me that his license was currently suspended.โ€

Officer Carlson said that he then ran Kleinโ€™s license through the MDT (mobile data terminal) in his cruiser and confirmed that it was โ€“ in fact โ€“ suspended.

At this time, Officer Jonathan Benoit arrived on scene as backup.

โ€œI approached Mr. Kleinโ€™s vehicle and asked him to step out and speak with me,โ€ Officer Carlson said. โ€œMr. Klein exited the vehicle, and we went into the driveway of 506 Lancaster Street, to get out of the roadway. I told Mr. Klein to turn around and place his hands behind his back as he was being placed under arrest for operating after suspension.โ€

Officer Carlson then handcuffed Klein, placed him into the rear of his cruiser, and radioed for a tow truck.

โ€œAt this time, I performed a motor vehicle inventory search,โ€ Officer Carlson said. โ€œThere was nothing inside the vehicle of significant value. Most of the content of the vehicle was clothing. Acme then got on scene and towed the vehicle back to their yard. Upon returning to the station, I issued Mr. Klein a uniform citation [# redacted]. I then advised Mr. Klein, while in the holding cell, of this citation and placed a copy with his belongings.โ€

Tyler Klein, 33, of Leominster was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Unlicensed Operation of Motor Vehicle
  • Electronic Device, Use While Operating Motor Vehicle, 1st Offense

Klein was arraigned in Leominster District Court on Dec. 10, 2025. Following his arraignment, he was released on personal recognizance. His next court date is a pretrial hearing scheduled for Jan. 28, 2025.

Disclaimer: If you are wondering why the arrest in this story took place in December, thatโ€™s because I had to file FOIA request(s) to obtain the court documents. FOIAs are time-consuming.
