Marlborough man arrested after woman found with gunshot wound at Bedford hotel

BEDFORD — On Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, at approximately 4:49 a.m., Bedford police were dispatched to the Bedford Plaza Hotel located at 340 Great Road after the Bedford Emergency Communications Center received a disconnected 911 call from the property.

According to Interim Police Chief Kenneth Fong, when officers arrived on scene, they located a woman with a severe leg injury. She was transported by ambulance to an area hospital, where medical staff determined she had suffered a gunshot wound. Police also located a firearm inside the hotel room.

Following an investigation, police arrested Joseph Clark, 30, of Marlborough, at the scene and charged him with the following:

  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
  • Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
  • Improper Storage of a Firearm

Chief Fong said the facts and circumstances surrounding the discharge of the firearm remain under investigation by the Bedford Police Department.

“This appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no general threat to the public,” Chief Fong said.

Clark was arraigned this afternoon in Concord District Court.
