Pedestrian struck and killed on Pleasant Street in Bridgewater, crash under investigation

BRIDGEWATER — On Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, at approximately 5:15 p.m., the Bridgewater police and fire departments were dispatched to 792 Pleasant Street following a report of a crash that left an adult pedestrian injured.

According to a joint statement from Police Chief Christopher Delmonte and Fire Chief John Schaltz, the pedestrian was transported from the scene of the crash by a Bridgewater Fire Department ambulance to Boston Medical Center – South in Brockton and later pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation determined that the pedestrian was in the roadway on Pleasant Street near the intersection with Scotland Boulevard at the time of the crash.

The operator of the vehicle involved remained on scene after the crash, officials said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Bridgewater Police Accident Reconstruction Unit, Bridgewater police detectives, and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit.
