TYNGSBOROUGH — On Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, at approximately 7:53 a.m., Tyngsborough police responded to the Tyngsborough Bridge after receiving reports of a body on the ice beneath the bridge.
According to a statement from Tyngsborough Police Chief Shaun Woods, when officers arrived, they located the body of an adult male, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chief Woods said the Tyngsborough Fire Department also responded to the scene to assist with recovery efforts.
“A preliminary investigation indicates this was an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public. Foul play is not suspected,” Chief Woods said.
The death remains under investigation by the Tyngsborough Police Department, in coordination with Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.
