EVERETT — A 20-year-old Everett man was taken into custody late last night following a shooting in the Main Street area that left one person with a gunshot wound.
According to the Everett Police Department, Everett police initially responded to the area of 66-80 Main Street around 7:50 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, following a report of shots fired. An immediate search did not locate ballistic evidence, a victim or a suspect.
At approximately 8:15 p.m., the Everett Police Department’s dispatch center received a call reporting a person with a gunshot wound on Park Terrace. The victim, who was staying at an Airbnb in Everett, told police they had been out for a walk when they were struck by a round. EMS personnel provided medical care to the victim at the scene, and the victim declined further treatment.
Through investigation, Everett police identified the suspect and his vehicle using multiple sources. The suspect was later identified as 20-year-old Gemini Nherrison of Everett.
Everett police said Nherrison had been involved in a domestic assault and battery on an ex-girlfriend in Fitchburg earlier in the day Thursday. According to police, the woman’s brother went to Everett looking for Nherrison, at which point Nherrison fired shots and then fled the scene.
The Everett Police Department said Massachusetts State Police with assistance from Quincy police, located Nherrison’s vehicle and took him into custody in Quincy at approximately 11:15 p.m. last night.
Everett police said Nherrison faces multiple assault and weapons charges, noting that those charges do not include any potential charges related to the earlier incident in Fitchburg.
Nherrison’s arraignment was scheduled for today in Malden District Court.
