Haverhill woman arrested for “chest bumping” police officer

HAVERHILL โ€” A Haverhill woman is facing a charge of assault and battery on a police officer following an incident on Pilling Street where she allegedly “chest bumped” a police officer.

According to police, Wendy J. Alcantara, 43, is a resident of Pilling Street in Haverhill, MA. Court documents indicate she’s a nurse.

According to an unsigned Statement of Facts in Support of Criminal Complaint submitted by the Haverhill Police Department to Haverhill District Court, Wendy Alcantara allegedly โ€œchest bumpedโ€ Haverhill Police Officer Domenic Buccini during an incident at her Pilling Street apartment on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at about 5:45 p.m., making contact with the officerโ€™s โ€œouter carrier.โ€

What transpired prior to Alcantara allegedly chest bumping Officer Buccini was not included in the Statement of Facts, however, the criminal complaint for this incident said that on Dec. 6, Alcantara “did assault and beat” Officer Buccini “a police officer who was engaged in the performance of his or her duties.”

Wendy J. Alcantara, 43, of Haverhill, was charged with the following:

  • Assault & Battery on Police Officer

Alcantara was arraigned in Haverhill District Court on Dec. 8, 2025. Following her arraignment, she was released on personal recognizance.

On Jan. 22, 2026, Alcantara attended a pretial hearing, also in Haverhill District Court.

On March 9, 2026, Alcantara attended a compliance and election hearing, and on April 27, 2026, a trial for the incident is scheduled.

  1. Haverhill police assault charges on themselves show a pattern of abuse. I was charged after legal not given my name , cop proceeded to hit my shoulder three times demanding my name. When I touch his hand to say stop hitting me. He charged me with A&B against him. Got fired from a job I had for 35 years at the eagle-tribune, financial dreams disappeared & retirement has been changed.
