BRIDGEWATER — On Saturday, April 11, 2026, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Bridgewater police and firefighters responded to the intersection of Maple Avenue and Bedford Street following reports of a two-car crash involving a pedestrian.
Bridgewater Police Chief Christopher Delmonte and Fire Chief John Schaltz said that when first responders arrived, they found an adult woman suffering from injuries and two vehicles that had sustained damage consistent with a crash.
The woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Her condition was not released.
Both drivers remained at the scene and are cooperating with investigators, Chiefs Delmonte and Schaltz said in a joint statement.
A preliminary investigation suggests one vehicle may have failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the other vehicle, causing the pedestrian to then be struck.
The crash remains under investigation by Bridgewater police.
