โ€œUpon arrival, Officer [Mario] Zylyftari joined us on scene,โ€ Officer Schwartz said.

Officer Schwartz said he saw a man matching the description provided by dispatch: an individual wearing an orange jumpsuit. He said he then approached that man and another man who was wearing a blue beanie.

โ€œBoth individuals stated that they were fine and explained that they were meeting each other for the first time. One male was a previous partner of the female that the other male is currently dating,โ€ Officer Schwartz said. โ€œWith a child involved, they expressed a desire to get to know each other for the child’s well-being.โ€

Officer Schwartz said both parties were cooperative but stated they did not wish to speak with the police.

โ€œWhile I spoke with the male in the orange sweat suit, he was forthcoming and provided his ID card,โ€ Officer Schwartz said. โ€œThe other individual was more defensive and declined to provide identification. Based on the information from the caller, I did not have grounds to compel him to provide ID. Both parties stated they were fine, had only been talking loudly, and were getting along. They requested privacy to continue their conversation.โ€

Officer Schwartz said he then walked away with his partners and ran the manโ€™s operatorโ€™s license number through dispatch.

โ€œDispatch confirmed that Maurice Maroney Wynn had an active warrant,โ€ Officer Schwartz said.

According to police, Maurice Maroney Wynn, 40, is a resident of Dorchester, MA.

Officer Schwartz said he approached Maurice again and informed him of the warrant.

โ€œHe was cooperative throughout the process and remained calm. He was placed in handcuffs, which were checked for proper fit and double-locked,โ€ Officer Schwartz said.

Wynn was placed in the back of a cruiser and transported to the Leominster Police Department for booking.

โ€œDuring booking, while Officer [Kyle] Klimowicz was processing Maurice, it was discovered that he had a baggie containing approximately 0.06 grams of a substance which Maurice identified as crack cocaine, it was logged in placed into evidence locker 005,โ€ Officer Schwartz said.

Maurice M. Wynn, 40, of Dorchester, was charged with the following:

  • Warrant Arrest
  • Possess Class B Drug (crack cocaine)

Wynn was arraigned in Leominster District Court on May 5, 2026. During his arraignment, Judge Christopher P. LoConto decriminalized the charge of Possess Class B Drug, found Wynn responsible, and ordered Wynn to pay a $100 fine that, if paid by May 12, 2026, would result in the charge being dismissed.
