Motorcyclist killed in crash with SUV in Raynham

RAYNHAM — On Friday, June 5, 2026, at approximately 9:40 p.m., the Raynham police and fire departments responded to the intersection of South Street East and Hill Street following a 911 call reporting that a motorcycle and an SUV were involved in a crash.

According to Raynham Police Chief David LaPlante, a preliminary investigation determined that a 2010 Ford Explorer driven by a 22-year-old Avon man collided with a 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling straight on South Street East. The motorcycle was operated by a 52-year-old New Bedford man.

After arriving on scene, Raynham firefighters requested a medical helicopter for the motorcyclist.

“Upon the helicopter’s arrival, it was determined the 52-year-old man would be transported by Raynham Rescue, along with flight medics, to Morton Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased,” Chief LaPlante said.

Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office and the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section responded to the scene to assist Raynham police detectives with the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation by the Raynham Police Department and Massachusetts State Police.

Chief LaPlante said further inquiries should be directed to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
