Marshfield man charged with OUI, child endangerment for doing donuts on Duxbury Beach with child in Jeep

DUXBURY — On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers with the Duxbury Police Department were dispatched to Chandler Street following a report that the male operator of a white Jeep Wrangler had pulled over and was vomiting outside the driver’s door.

According to Duxbury Police Chief Michael Carbone, when officers arrived on scene, the vehicle had already left the area.

At around 11:00 p.m. that evening, police were dispatched to the East Lot of Duxbury Beach for a report of a vehicle with a comparable description driving at a high rate of speed, doing donuts in the lot, and driving up on the beach dunes. The caller also reported that there may have been children in the back of the Jeep.

“Officers located the Jeep and initiated a motor vehicle stop,” Chief Carbone said. “They immediately observed a 4-year-old boy asleep in the back seat.”

While speaking with the operator, later identified as Michael Corbo, 37, of Marshfield, officers noticed vomit on his face and in the driver area of the vehicle. Chief Carbone said the officers who pulled Corbo over observed several signs during the initial interaction that he may have been under the influence of alcohol.

“When Mr. Corbo was asked to step out of the vehicle, he was extremely unsteady on his feet and told officers, ‘I’m drunk. I’m sorry,'” Chief Carbone said. “When officers attempted to place Mr. Corbo under arrest, he became combative and began to yell and kick at the officers. Officers eventually deployed OC (pepper spray) to gain compliance and get Mr. Corbo secured in the back of a police vehicle.”

During the struggle, one officer was kicked into an open cruiser door and sustained minor injuries, Chief Carbone added.

The child was not injured and was reunited with his mother.

Michael Corbo, 37, of Marshfield, was charged with the following:

  • OUI-Liquor, 3rd Offense
  • Child Endangerment while Operating under the Influence
  • Assault & Battery on a Police Officer
  • Resisting Arrest
