Lindsay Clancy’s husband is raising money again, this time by running the Boston Marathon in his slain children’s memory

BOSTON — The husband of Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury woman charged with murdering their three young children last year, is now running the Boston Marathon to raise money for Boston Children’s Hospital.

“I’ve joined the Miles for Miracles team to help the brave kids at Boston Children’s Hospital in honor of my children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan, who tragically passed away in January 2023,” Patrick Clancy wrote on “Support Patrick Clancy” a fundraising page on Boston Children’s Hospital’s website.

Miles for Miracles is an annual fundraising event orchestrated by the Boston Children’s Hospital Trust, which raises money for the hospital by having marathon participants solicit donations. The Boston Marathon is taking place this year on Monday, April 15.

As of April 4, 2024, Patrick Clancy has raised $68,672.57 for the hospital, exceeding his fundraising goal of $65,000. Clancy has also raised $1,075,411 on a GoFundMe page called “Patrick Clancy Donations” which was created on Jan. 28, 2023, four days after the murders. In May of 2023, one of Lindsay’s attorneys told the Boston Globe that “not one cent” of what Patrick raised on his GoFundMe page has gone toward paying his wife’s legal fees.

“In the short time they were here, my kids brought me so much joy and couldn’t have made their dad prouder,” Clancy wrote on his fundraising page for Boston Children’s Hospital. “It goes without saying that losing them has been devastating and it’s a heartbreak that I’ll live with forever, but I’ve committed myself to honoring their memory by trying to bring positive change. In many ways, I’m just trying to be more like them. Their passion in life was infectious.”

On Jan. 24, 2023, Clancy’s wife, Lindsay, allegedly strangled their three children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, with an exercise band in the basement of their home before jumping from a second-floor window. Lindsay, who worked as a labor and delivery nurse, suffered a severe spinal cord injury in the fall and is now paralyzed from the waist down. While the murders were taking place, Patrick had gone out for less than an hour to pick up medication and a takeout food order.

On his “Support Patrick Clancy” fundraising page for the hospital, Patrick discussed his children, saying Cora aspired to be a “doctor and a mama,” Dawson was “everyone’s pal and one of the friendliest toddlers you’d ever meet,” and Callan was so happy he earned the nickname “Happy Callan.”

“You could tell he loved his brother and sister and seemed to find them hilarious,” Patrick said of Callan. “I could have listened to him laugh all day. I know he would have done great things in this world. Callan spent his last moments in my arms before he passed at Boston Children’s Hospital. Although I wished so badly for a different outcome, I was overwhelmed by the compassion and professionalism of the doctors and nurses in the ICU. They gave me a little more time with my boy and I’ll forever be grateful for that.”

Lindsay has since pleaded not guilty to three counts of murder in her children’s death. Lindsay was heavily medicated at the time of the murders, blood test results announced during her arraignment indicated that she was on seven prescription drugs including three antidepressants, an antipsychotic, two sedatives, and an anticonvulsant medication.

She is presently undergoing mental health treatment at Tewksbury State Hospital, according to court records obtained by the Boston Globe.

Lindsay is schedule to appear in Plymouth Superior Court again on May 28, 2024.
