
DEDHAM — On Monday, June 29, 2026, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Dedham firefighters responded to a detached shed fire on Crest Avenue after residents reported hearing loud bangs in the area.
While crews were en route, multiple callers reported explosions coming from the area. According to Dedham Firefighters Local 1735, the explosions were caused by propane tanks and lithium-ion batteries from an e-bike inside the shed.
Dedham Fire Department crews extinguished the flames before the fire could spread to the adjacent home. Damage to the home was limited to melted siding.

No injuries were reported to firefighters or residents.
