DEDHAM — A paving contractor from Dedham was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to multiple counts of larceny for scamming over $15,000 from 11 Norfolk County residents.
According to Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey, William Pusateri, 59, of Dedham, was sentenced earlier this week in Dedham Superior Court by Judge Michael P. Doolin to five to six years in prison. Pusateri was also sentenced to 18 months of probation, to be served after his prison term, and ordered to pay restitution. The amount of restitution will be determined at a later date.
The Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office said Pusateri took more than $15,000 from 11 residents, including senior citizens, in Foxboro, Sharon, Dedham, and Westwood after promising to perform driveway work or other home improvements that he either did not perform or failed to complete.
“The defendant stole from the victims who trusted him and took advantage of senior citizens,” Morrissey said. “I thank the police departments in Foxboro, Sharon, Dedham, and Westwood for their hard work in this case. Investigators obtained search warrants, bank records, and surveillance videos in order to file criminal charges against the defendant.”
Morrissey also credited Assistant District Attorneys Adam Stewart and Michael Gaffney with prosecuting the case and Victim Witness Advocate Caroline Steele for assisting the victims throughout the court process.
