FITCHBURG — On Saturday, July 11, 2026, at approximately 3:29 p.m., members of the Fitchburg police and fire departments responded to Ashby State Road following a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.
According to the Fitchburg Police Chief Steven Giannini, the operator of the motorcycle, a 44-year-old Fitchburg man, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The crash remains under investigation by the Fitchburg Police Department in conjunction with the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC) Crash Reconstruction Team.
Chief Giannini said no additional information was available for release at this time.
