Three arrested after report of naked woman at Target in Milford

MILFORD — On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at approximately 7:25 p.m., the Milford Public Safety Communications Center received a call from an employee of Target, located at 250 Fortune Boulevard, reporting that an intoxicated, nude woman was inside the store.

According to the Milford Police Department, during the call, the employee said the woman had put her clothes back on and left the store on foot, with blood visible on her clothing.

When officers arrived on scene, they began checking the area for the woman and later located a red Subaru Forester in the nearby vacant Best Buy parking lot. The vehicle was occupied by a male operator and two female passengers, one of whom matched the suspect description provided by the Target employee.

The occupants were identified as Benjamin Mahler, 50, of Uxbridge; Elizabeth McCusker, 36, of Franklin; and Alisha Chmiel, 32, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island.

The Milford Police Department reported that during the interaction, police allegedly discovered that the vehicle and its occupants possessed crack cocaine and fentanyl.

The following charges were filed as a result of the investigation:

Alisha Chmiel, 32, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Class A Substance (fentanyl)
  • Obstruction of Justice
  • Warrant Arrest (five counts)

Benjamin Mahler, 50, of Uxbridge, was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Class B Substance (crack cocaine)

Elizabeth McCusker, 36, of Franklin, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Class A Substance (fentanyl)
  • Disturbing the Peace
