EASTON — On Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, at approximately 10:15 a.m., the Easton Police Department received a report of two vehicles traveling south on Pearl Street in Brockton at high rates of speed.
According to Easton Police Chief Keith Boone, the vehicles reportedly continued from Brockton into West Bridgewater before entering Easton by way of Turnpike Street.
One vehicle was described as a dark-colored SUV that appeared to be fleeing a dark-colored sedan.
Near the intersection of Turnpike Street and Jennifer Way, a witness reported seeing a passenger leaning out of the sedan’s window and firing a handgun at the SUV, Chief Boone said. Witnesses said the vehicles then sped away in different directions.
Easton police officers and detectives responded to the scene of the shooting and recovered several spent shell casings from the roadway.
On Saturday, Chief Boone said investigators had not yet identified any suspects and that no potential victims had come forward.
Chief Boone said the incident does not appear to be random in nature and that Easton police detectives are actively investigating along with several other local law enforcement agencies.
