SOUTHBRIDGE — On Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Southbridge police detectives, patrol officers, and K9 “Vice” executed a narcotics-related search warrant at 28 Harding Court, Apartment 3.
According to the Southbridge Police Department, during the search, officers recovered more than 649 grams of suspected cocaine packaged for distribution and fentanyl. Police also found a “kilo press,” a device commonly used to compress powdered narcotics into one-kilogram blocks, along with other paraphernalia used to package and distribute drugs.

As a result of the investigation, the Southbridge Police Department arrested Jerard R. Rice, 31, of 28 Harding Court, Apartment 3, Southbridge, and charged him with trafficking over 200 grams of cocaine and possession of a Class A drug (fentanyl).
Rice was transported to the Southbridge Police Department and held without bail due to a probation violation stemming from his arrest, according to Southbridge police.
Rice was arraigned on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, in Dudley District Court.
